South Nations Conservation monitors stream flow, water quality, meteorological conditions, and operational conditions at SNC dams. The information is collected and transmitted from each station to SNC's Operations Centre in Carleton Place, Ontario once an hour.
Users of SNC's near real-time data are cautioned to consider the provisional nature of the information before using it for decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business. These data are not citable until reviewed and approved by SNC.

If the image in the gauge icon is green it indicates that the data from that station is up to date. Even though this data is up to date it is considered provisional because it has not been checked for accuracy and may be incorrect. Anyone using the data contained within this website is cautioned to carefully consider the provisional nature of this information and should not use it for making decisions that concern personal or public safety or the conduct of business that involves substantial monetary or operational consequences. Please note that Snow Gauges are not marked as up to date or out of date.
A red image indicates that automated gauge data is over 24 hours old or staff gauge data is over 7 days old. Our automated gauges are solar powered and talk to the office with cell phone modems or satellite transmitters. As a result, Mother Nature can sometimes block our signal strength or solar panels, stopping data transmission. Please note that Snow Gauges are not marked as up to date or out of date.
Why are there extra lines on the map?
The new black lines on the map represent subwatersheds within the larger South Nations River watershed. When a subwatershed has a transparent colour an active conditions message is in effect. Click on a subwatershed to see its name and if there is an active conditions message.
